Nasz teamowy kolega Gerald Karsznia startował w dwóch wyścigach na festiwalu rowerowym Roc d’Azur w miejscowości Fréjus we Francji.. Niżej jego relacja z tej kultowej dla Francuzów imprezy..

Roc d’Azur is a huge event of mountain biking. It takes place in the south of France on the side of the Mediterranean sea. Most of International racers comes there to close their season having fun in the good atmosphere of the bike show with a lots of animations like dirt. There is also a BMX supercross world cup.

The marathon race stared at 8:00. I did a warm up closed to the start, crossing Christoph Sauser with Burry Stander and others great racers. I took the first start at the begining of all racers. The beautiful singles tracks were dry. It was a very hard race because it was very technical. But thanks to the full suspensions of my borrowed GT Marathon I well managed the technical sections. It was also very warm under the sun and I burned a lot of calories. After 50km, I had cramps. I was happy to finish the race.

I took the first start but at the end of the 500 racers group. So I was blocked at the first single track. During all the race I was fighting to win places. I was lucky that I didn’t have flat tires. And my bike, the hardtail GT Zaskar was pretty light and rigid, so perfect for the race. The end of the race was the same as the marathon one: we have climbed the famous “Bougnon” pass which is crowed of supporters as we can see on the “Tour de France”, until a big sea panorama, and a technical downhill reach the beach where we have to run along the seacoast.
